Value Added Services

  • Bonded Inventory. The program segregates inventory within our system and logistics centers to guarantee availability and replenished based on customer demand. As demand changes, adjustments are made to the supply to ensure availability while minimizing surplus so customers always have the appropriate number of components.
  • JIT Delivery. Vantage reliably delivers products to our customers just before the product is required for production, thereby reducing and controlling the customer’s inventory holding costs while still ensuring that they receive what they need when they need.
  • Tape and Reeling. Tape and reeling of bulk product purchases accommodates customer product requirements. All taping is performed in accordance with the most current EIA/IS standards or customer supplied specifications.
  • Parts and components are grouped together for delivery and production assembly. This cuts down on customers’ costs from ordering parts separately and it also reduces the required amount of material storage.
  • Bar Coding. Vantage uses bar coding methods that meet or exceed the standards set forth by the Electronic Industries Association (EIA). Custom labels can also be designed to meet customer supplied specifications.
  • Baking, Dry Pack, and Vacuum Sealing.  Dry pack and baking ensures product quality and shelf life. Dry packing consists of placing components in a moisture-barrier bag along with desiccant and a humidity indicator. Dry packing is provided to ensure the quality of all goods leaving our warehouse.  Vacuum Sealing refers to packaging from which substantially all air has been removed prior to final sealing. This method of packaging is actually a form of “Modified Atmosphere” since normal room air is removed from the package.
  • Component Testing. For your component testing needs, we partner with certified testing facilities to offer a full range of objective and independent visual and electrical tests. Counterfeit and damaged products are a constant problem in the components industry. At Vantage, we make sure that the products you receive are what you expect and work the way that they should. That’s why Vantage provides testing for all of our materials to ensure their authenticity and functionality by an independent DLA QTSL-certified test house. Tests include:
    • Authenticity Screening Visual inspection, marking permanency, decapsulation, x-ray and basic unpowered electrical test.
    • External visual inspection. An inspection of the item for any signs of obvious damage or reuse against the manufacturer’s specifications. This is normally the first step when testing an item for counterfeits or faults.
    • X-ray inspection. A non-destructive method that allows for the internal inspection of a product. It is an easy way to initially detect any problems that a device may have.
    • X-Ray Fluorescence RoHS Compliance Screening
    • X-ray fluorescent (XRF) technology measures the amount of each chemical element in an electrical component. By doing so, it is possible to identify the materials that a component is made of based on the combination of elements that they are made from. Primarily, it is used to determine the presence of heavy metals such as Mercury (Hg) and Lead (Pb), and also the presence of potentially toxic elements like Cadmium (Cd) and Chromium (Cr).
    • Decapsulation is the precise exposing of the internal die within an electrical component for examination. Everything about the die, ranging from its markings to its position, is inspected in order to test for counterfeit products.
    • Full functional Electrical Testing. Every electrical component has its own criteria supplied by the manufacturer. Electrical testing is simply when the component is observed under the manufacturer-specified parameters to see if it works properly.
    • Solderability testing is used to determine the solderability of leads and terminations which are normally joined by a soldering operation. This determination is based on the ability of the terminations to be wetted by the molten solder. Ideally, the solder should be a smooth, unbroken layer that adheres well to the applied area. The test provides for accelerated aging (steam conditioning) in order to simulate the condition of the components after long-term storage.
    • RoHS Compliance Screening: Used to determine the presence of heavy metals such as Mercury (Hg) and Lead (Pb), and also the presence of potentially toxic elements like Cadmium (Cd) and Chromium (Cr).
    • Industrial Temperature and Component Screening. Electronic components can be tested for industrial strength temperatures. This type of testing provides customers with a level of comfort that the electronic components will meet the temperature needs of the application in which they are to be utilized.
